Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday!
Here’s this week’s snippet from The Daemon Whisperer, my Urban Fantasy WIP from my Liminals series.
By the way, on 3/30 I’m releasing cover art and a snippet from Chapter 1! SQUEE! I hope you love the cover art as much as I do, if not I don’t care cause I adore it! 🙂 (See how I am!)
Anyway, in this six Meri (Meriweather) Storm is talking with the daemon Azimuth about a potential job offer. Specifically, he’s verifying her qualifications for the job. Enjoy!
“I can sense falsehoods, if you will allow my questions,” Azimuth replied.
“That, I can do,” Meri replied. Oh no, she’d agreed to a deal with a daemon without first outlining the exact terms. “Fuck!”
Azimuth’s right eye-brow shot up, humor sparkling in his eyes. “That’s not a part of this process, but I suppose it could be arranged.”
For a daemon, Azimuth appears to have a better sense of humor than Meri does! Of course, he’s got less on the line than she does with this summoning job. Doesn’t he?
Please head on over to Six Sunday and check out the other participating authors. Cheers! 🙂
Great six, Candice! It’s gonna be fun to see how Meri’s going to handle her new employer… Er, her new job.
Yeah, so far this job isn’t exactly what she’s used to, eh? We’ll see what she does next. 😉
Uh-oh! Now what’s she going to do? He’s obviously left her very flustered. Fabulous six! 🙂
Azimuth has a talent with the flustering. It doesn’t get better for a while. Fair warning. 😉
Lol! I’d love to see where more of this conversation goes.
I bet you would! 🙂 We’ll see what next week’s six brings us.
Oooh, nice comeback on that! LOL. I bet these two are fireworks!
Thanks Sarah, there’s quite a bit more fighting to come between these two. 🙂
LOL, love his reply! It also shows her character in just 6 sentences and highlights potential conflict!
Great six, Candice! Sounds like it’ll be an interesting job interview. 🙂
Interesting interview, and an even more interesting job. 😉
