Six Sentence Sunday: An Excerpt from The Daemon Whisperer – 4/15/12

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday!

Here’s this week’s snippet from The Daemon Whisperer, my Urban Fantasy WIP from my Liminals series. If you use Goodreads please consider adding this to your to-read list so you can be the first to know when it releases this summer. Thanks!

In this six Meri (Meriwether) Storm has completed the job for Azimuth’s cabal and it’s left her with some unexpected side effects. This is a bit of a continuation from last week’s scene. Enjoy!

“You know what Makhra said while I was killing him? He said I should kill you next for not warning me of the consequences. You see I think he’d taken a liking to me, even despite the whole assassination thing. And now I’m standing here wondering, why the hell should I trust you?”

Azimuth watched her with murderous eyes, but he didn’t answer.

Meri thought about staying and demanding her payment, but between Azimuth’s mood and her body’s odd after effects from the summoning, she needed time to think, time without his gaze boring through her.

Meri’s finding out trusting daemons is a tricky game to play!

Please head on over to Six Sunday and check out the other participating authors. Cheers! 🙂

  1. Meri’s attitude may infuriate Azi, but he’s gotta admire the way she stands her ground. On the other hand, who knows how a demon will react? 😉

  2. I switched from iPad to Mac – -much better. For some weird reason, my iPad was turning fonts purple. WEIRD! Okay…The murderous eyes really add another layer of tension to the scene. Something’s about to happen!! Good, Candice.
